Admission criteria in MBA Executive program?
16 years of HEC approved academic or professional qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or 60% marks (whichever applicable) plus three years of post-qualification work experience. Preference will be given to those candidates who carry 5 years plus experience gained after completion of 16 years of education.
- Foreign degree holders are required to submit Equivalence Certificate from HEC

What kind of experience is preferred?
We need formal, documented, engagement with a business or non-business organization.

Does IBA accept experience acquired during qualification for MBA Executive?
No. Only post 16 years qualification experience is accepted for MBA Executive program

Is there any alternative to IBA aptitude test for MBA Executive?
Yes. The test waiver is allowed if a candidate obtained 600 score in GMAT, during last 2 years.

What are the contents of an MBA executive aptitude test?
MBA Executive admission test consists of Applied Math, Business English, Case Study and Interview. For greater details and past test papers, please visit http://mbaexecutive.iba.edu.pk

Does IBA help candidates in enhancing their capabilities before the test?

How many time I can take the aptitude test?
There is no such cap.

What if I clear the test/interview but couldn’t join the program?
In that case you need to take the test again and complete all the requirements.

I am an ACCA Member, do I need to obtain Equivalence Certificate from HEC?
HEC Notification of Dec. 14, 2018 clarified that ACCA membership is equivalent to a Master Degree (M. Com). Based on HEC Notification, you are eligible to apply in MBA Executive provided that you have 3 years of experience after becoming ACCA affiliate.

Is there any limit of seats/quota / self-finance etc?
No. Admissions are given strictly on merit. There is no fixed number of seats for any segment. Further, there is no such quota system/self-finance schemes etc.

What is the difference between MBA (Morning/Evening) and Executive?
All three programs; MBA Morning, Executive and Evening are of 72 credit hours with same rigor, faculty, facilities and other IBA standards. Students can join as per their convenience.

Is MBA Executive equal to 18 years of qualification?
Yes. As per Notification issued by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan

Can I do PhD after MBA Executive/Morning/Evening?
As per guidelines of HEC a candidate with 18 years of qualification can be admitted into Ph. D However, A model route to PhD is through the focused MS/MPhil. MBA is an all-encompassing applied degree aimed at developing leaders for the business world.

Can I transfer from MBA (Morning or Evening) to MBA Executive or vice versa?
Yes. But you need to clear test and other requirement of the program in which you seek transfer. However, you need to do at least 50% of course work in the new program.

Is there any age limit for MBA Executive?
No. Age, gender, religion, domicile etc. are not the selecting criteria.

What is the maximum / minimum duration to complete MBA Executive?
The maximum duration to complete the program is 7 years and the minimum is 2.5 years.

Is there any requirement of minimum CGPA during studies at the IBA?
Yes. A participant must maintain minimum CGPA of 2.2 on a cumulative basis. Student with a CGPA of less than 2.00 is dropped out from the rolls of the Institute, however, a probation period is allowed to students securing CGPA between 2.0 and 2.2 for improving their grades.

How many courses are required for completing MBA Executive?
The MBA Executive consists 14 core and 8 elective courses plus one research project (equal to 2 courses of 3 credit hours each). Finally they have to clear a Comprehensive Exam.

What are the majors available for MBA Executive?
Specializations in Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, and Supply Chain are available through the elective courses. However, MBA degree will not mention any such specialization.

Can I prolong MBA Executive by taking lesser course load?
Yes. Depending on circumstances a participant can complete MBA in seven years by taking lesser course load. Fees will be charged based on courses taken in each semester.

Are MBA Executive participants engaged in extracurricular activities?

When and where classes are conducted?
Primarily, the MBA Executive classes are conducted at IBA Main Campus, Karachi University on Saturdays from 6:00pm - 9:15pm and Sundays from 9:30am - 5:15pm.

What is the Program Fee?
There are 24 courses for which Rs.35,000/- per course is charged. The total fee for MBA Executive is Rs.840,000/- + 5% tax. The fee can be paid semester wise. IBA has the right to revise the fee periodically.

Does IBA provide any financial assistance to MBA Executive participants?
No. it is a self-financed program. This program is designed for the in-service professionals, hence financial assistance is not available for the MBA Executive.
