Mr. Habib Ali Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, HBL, Shares the Brand Insights on Nov 20, 2022

A combined guest speaker session of three concurrent Marketing Management classes numbering more than 100 students was held in the G&T Auditorium in the Main Campus on Sunday, November 20, 2022. The students had the pleasure of meeting HBL's Chief Marketing and Communication Officer, Mr. Ali Habib carries more than 32 years of diversified experience in marketing. He has served not only in financial entities such as HBL, UBL, Standard Chartered but also in outside financial sector and has served in P&G and Reckitt & Benckiser. Mr Ali is a proud graduate of class of 1989.

The topic of the talk was “HBLPSL - A story of giving back to Pakistan”. HBL’s commitment to PSL dovetails with one of the six business agendas of the Bank, specifically, ‘Giving back to the Country and the Communities that we serve.’ HBLPSL helps HBL accomplish three key objectives: (a) Helps the Bank reach out to the youth segment (b) deliver against a national cause i.e. bringing international cricket back to Pakistan and (c) play its part in giving back to the country. Additionally, during the session, Mr. Ali briefed the participants how HBL got associated with one of Pakistan's biggest brands, the PSL (Pakistan Super League). He discussed the power of cricket and how PSL is helping HBL in its brand building, and also helping HBL strengthen roots with the youth of Pakistan as it is already a well-established name among our elders. The session ran well beyond its allocated time of one hour by 45 minutes more, and the students asked intelligent and challenging questions of the guest speaker. There was a lot of enthusiasm, since this co-brand has its finger on the pulse of the Pakistani youth! At the end of the session, Mr. Najeeb Agrawala, CEO 1link and IBA’s faculty member presented token of appreciation to the distinguish guest.
